CONISTON STONECRAFT MAKING BESPOKE PIECES THAT LAST

Submitted by Brendan Donnelly 13th Jan 2023

Coniston Stonecraft have been working locally hewn stone (slate and limestone ) on the slopes of Coniston Old Man for around half a century andwe stick to the craft graft and stone that has served us so well over all those years.

Little about the process changes, we select the finest stone for each job,

combining its unique and beautiful features to produce stunning items of

home and kitchen ware, garden pieces and signs. No two pieces are the same

yet each one is a thing of beauty.

Stone quarried in Cumbria helps to reduce out CO2 footprint to a minimum

which is further enhanced by the use of hydro electric power from the nearby

beck to power the machines and the same water is used to cool the machines

meaning no oil and a lovely tactile final finish, this and our use of recycled bike

boxes for our packaging has meant we are a certified green small business.

As a small craft manufacturer we can turn our hand to most things stone and

relish making bespoke pieces, we know where each piece was quarried and the

craftsperson that made it, it all adds to the authenticity and love of our chosen

craft.

CRAFT, QUALITY BEAUTY AND HEFT
