County conference to help women succeed in business
Submitted by Lizzie Beckford 16th August 2022
On Thursday 25 August, Pink Link will be holding their first Summer Regional event in Cumbria. Set in the stunning setting of the Lakeside Hotel & Spa, the conference will help attendees to connect with a dynamic and supportive network of empowered women. They will meet potential new customers and suppliers, explore opportunities and discover resources and knowledge to help them grow a strong and successful business.
Exhibitors will be promoting their products and services and there are two free masterclasses which are open to all. The Intellectual Property Office will be advising how to protect content, ideas and designs and will be on hand to offer guidance that could save businesses time and money. The second workshop with Elizabeth McQuillan of Flamingo Business will help women to conquer the fear of sales and selling. Using her own 5 Pillar Sales System, she generated sales of over £3.5 million in her first 2 years of business. Attendees will leave with tangible learnings that can be implemented immediately so they can start smashing their sales.
The conference’s guest speakers are bound to inspire and motivate as they share their stories.
2021 Enterprise Vision Awards Inspirational Woman of the Year, Rachel Holliday will share how her own experience of addiction, severe mental illness and homelessness inspired her to set up Time to Change (West Cumbria) Project CIC. Rachel believes that investment in homelessness works in tackling poverty and unemployment and she is living proof of the success.
Hot on the heels of her recent tv appearance on Channel 4’s A Lake District Farm Shop, award winning entrepreneur, Maria Benjamin of Dodgson Wood will share her passion for finding creative and environmentally sustainable solutions to diversify natural resources that already exist on the family’s farm. Her innovative approach has helped businesses both locally and as far afield as Nepal.
Coral Horn, founder of Pink Link said “Extra support is needed to improve female entrepreneurs’ access to tools, resources and finance. These events are where women from all sectors can discuss their challenges and find solutions, expand their market and generate leads – it’s what businesses need and we welcome support from all our allies.”
