Have you been squirrelling away foreign currency?!

Keen traveller, Nicola Steadman one of our Solicitors, was looking for an outlet for her spare coins/notes from her various trips.

She found that the Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group are collecting old and foreign coins so has started a collection.  With donations from members of the various offices of Thomson Hayton Winkley and other contacts, she has 44 currencies to donate to support the local Group.

Currency that Nicola has received includes a 1914 old UK Penny, old Spanish Pesetas, and a 50p Isle of Man note, as well as existing currencies such as the Euro and Krone!

Collection points can be seen on the Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group website or you can drop donations off at our Kendal Office if you wish.

NEW NSPCC FUNDRAISING EVENT

 Submitted by Steve Johnston 23rd Sept 2022 A MAJOR fundraising event has been unveiled to raise vital funds for Cumbria’s NSPCC charity. The new Cumbria Fair will take place over two days on October 11-12 at The Garden At Eden, near Carlisle. Its pop-up stalls will showcase many independent Cumbrian producers plus specialist goods from all over the country. Cumbria Fair aims to build on the success of the previous Carlisle NSPCC Christmas Fair which raised many thousands of pounds for the children’s charity. The annual event had to be cancelled because of the Covid outbreak.
