Cumbria’s leading Half Marathon since 1982 The Great Cumbrian Run returns to

Carlisle on Sunday 1 st October 2023 at 9am. Last year’s course started at The

Sheepmount Athletics Stadium in Carlisle and took competitors out through the city

centre towards Wetheral before turning back through Scotby village and Rickerby

Park before a grandstand finish back at the Sheepmount Athletics Stadium.

However, race team organisers ‘Better’ said that it was going to be a different route

this year which will be published shortly.

So, whether it’s your first time tackling the half, or you’re a seasoned veteran - we

can't wait to see you on the start line and the ‘Team Calvert’ Lake District Calvert

Trust needs your help?

One of The Great Cumbrian Runs ‘official’ nominated Charities of Choice, we are

planning something special this year. We are looking for 100+ runners both able

bodied and less able bodied to represent, participate and raise funds for our charity.

Today Calvert Lakes provides adventure breaks and holidays for people with

disabilities and their families and carers. A not-for-profit based in the Lake District,

we help children and adults with a range of disabilities overcome challenges and

experience the benefit of the great outdoors.
