WELL VERSED IN POETRY?

THE NSPCC children’s charity is looking for someone to set up fund raising poetry events in Cumbria

The volunteer Poetry Night Co-ordinator role is seen as a way of raising the profile of the charity while raising vital funds to support vulnerable and abused youngsters.

It is hoped that monthly or bimonthly poetry events can be staged in the county.

Sandra Jones, Carlisle based NSPCC community fundraising manager, said: “This role is great for anyone who enjoys meeting people, is passionate about the work the NSPCC does and is motivated to engage local communities with new events.

“It will help us to raise funds and awareness of our vital work in supporting communities and protecting young people and children”.

About 90 per cent of NSPCC income comes from its supporters.
