Terms and conditions for submitting pieces to Showcase Cumbria


-Showcase Cumbria does not charge to post and share the submissions nor does it take a cut or commission from anyone paid who has submitted the pieces.

-Showcase Cumbria holds no responsibility for pieces submitted and posted, text and photos are posted on the basis that the person submitting has permission or owns the information and images. If you do feel that it isn't correct information or wrong or not theirs to post. Simply pop me an email and the said piece and I will remove. 

-Showcase Cumbria is not a funded platform - it is done voluntarily during spare time between full time work and parenting so pieces that are more time-sensitive will go on first and if more than one organisation submits, then they can't follow one another and others get a chance to be posted first. 

- Showcase Cumbria reserves the right not to post a submission.

-Showcase Cumbria is not always monitored and not always posting. I will endeavour to do my best however to showcase submissions. Please send submissions in good time. Happy to accept late submissions but don't be upset if it is picked up past the date. 

-Ideally submit small to medium sized images. It takes a bit of time for me to make the photos an acceptable size. Submit text ideally in an email or word and have the photos attached. 

-Showcase Cumbria does not pay for any content or submissions sent in.

-It is accepted that by submitting or asking me to post about something that you accept the above terms and conditions.

Bringing an Easter smile to Cockermouth people’s faces

Lyn Osbaldeston, who runs the New to You by The Cumbrian Wordsmith shop in Market Place, at the bottom of Castlegate, is making up seasonal goody bags for the Linking Lives charity. It’s the second time she has donated gifts to the charity after sharing vouchers for local businesses at Christmas.   Lyn sells quality second hand items and also has a mug printing business and a percentage of her sales goes to charity. The John Peel Theatre's Robin Hood The Pantomime Opening Night Success

  Showcase Cumbria attended the first opening night of the well-awaited and anticipated Robin Hood The Pantomime at Wigton's historical and award-winning John Peel Theatre.  It was attended by all ages as well as the attendance Wigton Mayor Christopher Scott who all enjoyed the show. Written by David Ross, this version of Robin Hood The Pantomime has all the hallmarks of a classic Panto but has it's own take with lovely surprises and turns, much to the delight of the those watching.  It pulls also from the story of Robin Hood but stands as it's own creation taking recognisable parts of well-known stories, music and movies and rolling it into one, which is both brilliant and witty.  It kept everyone engaged till the end, from the fun boos and to the awwws.
